A response variable in an experiment is a characteristic of an experimental
unit on which information is to be obtained.
Note:
The response variable may be qualitative, such as whether or not you
pass a course, or quantitative, such as your final overall percentage for the
course.
The experimental variables which we can control or manipulate in ANOVA
are called the independent variables or
factors
.
