Chapter 16: One-Way Analysis of Variance

753

Section Review

SUMMARY

Here, the focus was on testing for the equality of several means for a one-

way ANOVA. The F-test was employed to perform the test. In addition,

technology was integrated to help with the computations for the test. Also,

technology was used to help with establishing whether the one-way

ANOVA assumptions of independence, normality, and constant variance

were violated. Some graphical procedures were used to help to explain

some of the concepts.

The concepts in the chapter were illustrated through

Care should always be taken when doing the

test for the one-way analysis

of variance. Caution should be relied upon when the ANOVA assumptions

have been violated.
