Software Formula

It is computed from the following formula. In the formula,

represents the value of the variable, and

x-bar

represents the

sample mean.

We can also use the

Basic Statistics

workbook to compute the skewness

using the “software formula”. If we did for the previous example, then the

skewness will be approximately equal to 0.8192. This is shown in

Figure 3-33

.
