A curve pattern in the residuals will suggest that a non-linear model is more

appropriate for the original data.

-squared value for the independent variable of the first 200 natural numbers

(examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, …) and the dependent variable of the first 200 prime

numbers (examples: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, …). One should feel fairly

confident in the stated model since the

-squared is fairly large, and the fit

appears so snug.
